One great way to start your morning is with an unpretentious breakfast that the hotel serves in their gorgeous garden—it’s got to be something special, with so much green everywhere, in the middle of town which provides just the serene, classy start to your morning. “From dinner after” which cannot be done with just one restaurant location but rather strolling along the port, and the Place Louis XIV, through streets adjacent to it, popping in and out of tapas bars. At each bar, you can only taste one or two of the special pintxos (small snacks) that they have lined up on the counter on offer, together with a small glass of local wine. This is the nice way to have dinner –friendly and flavorsome

To get the feeling of local culture, it is advised to visit Les Halles, the covered market, especially on Tuesday or Friday morning as these are the main market days and the square outside is jammed with vendors; a lively vibrant scene of people buying great local products such as Basque cheeses, and cured meats, and the now world-renowned ‘gâteau basque’. Having a picnic at the market buys along the beach is an inexpensive way to pass a very yummy lunchtime.
